Apexon partners with the STEM Ambassador Programme

GLOBAL tech consultancy Apexon is flying the flag for STEM careers, after being invited to partner with the UK’s STEM Ambassador Programme.

The programme will give Apexon, which provides technology and consulting services to organisations worldwide, the opportunity to showcase roles in the tech industry and support and inspire young people in their learning.

STEM Learning – which manages the programme – is the UK’s largest provider of education and careers support in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Committed to STEM education, STEM Learning’s aim is to provide a world-leading STEM education for all young people across the UK by collaborating with the UK Government, educational establishments, organisations, and employers large and small to deliver positive STEM interactions for young people.

Apexon employees will take part in activities each year as part of the STEM Ambassador Programme, delivering workshops and careers talks to encourage young people to think about their future and understand how STEM subjects can be used in real world applications.

Allison Cummins, people and capability manager at Apexon, said: “As a company that’s all about its people, we share STEM Learning’s aims to raise aspirations, highlight careers and support the learning of young people, so when they approached us about the STEM Ambassador Programme, we were delighted to get involved.

“Apexon has five main practice areas including Salesforce, data analytics, digital experience, engineering and automation. STEM subjects are at the core of what we do, and we have always been passionate about building a workforce of people who feel empowered at work and want to continue learning no matter what their experience level.

“The team at Apexon will get involved with STEM activities and careers support to inspire the next generation and provide information on pathways into the tech industry, as well as raise awareness of the skills that are needed.”

Apexon is committed to supporting those who may or may not have been to university or studied a STEM subject and already has its own initiative, 0Gravity, a programme set up to inspire the next generation about the opportunities available in digital and tech, so they can hone their skills from a young age.

Allison added: “We’re looking forward to getting involved in the STEM Ambassador Programme to continue and enhance the work we’re already doing to support and inspire young people and make a difference to STEM education in the community. Who knows, we might even meet some future members of the Apexon team!”
